Class Tidbits by Thomas
In reading we read Thomas’s Snowsuit
& did a story map.
In writing we read
There’s a Bird on Your Head
& talked about dialogue.  We wrote our own poems for two voices about being a stick or a stone.
In math we’ve been making a small town called Koinoina out of paper by measuring.
In Alaska History we are finishing our projects to share next week.

December Celebrations
During the last week of December our class is going to be learning about different December celebrations. If any parents have a special tradition or holiday that would like to share with the class please let Jenna know.

Theatre Field Trip - January 20th!
On Tuesday, Jan. 20th, the first day back from intensives, we have a theatre field trip planned to see a silent-movie style physical comedy play performance, the product of the New Vaudeville & Physical Comedy Workshop intensive, a joint venture with TBA Theatre.  It will be performed at APU’s Grant Hall Theatre.
We’re seeking driver/chaperones who will join us for this performance.  However, as theatre seating is drastically limited and the whole K-5 will be attending, we have only three adult seats available per class.  We’re hoping to find drivers with six or more seats for students and/or parents who won’t mind hanging out in the lobby
(complete with couches, coffee cart, and the good company of several other parents)  Once the audience enters and we tally up extra spaces due to absences, etc., additional seats may become available.
Drivers should plan to arrive by 9:20am and the class will depart at 9:30 for a 10:00 performance.  The estimated return time to Polaris will be no later than 11:30am.  Please let us know ASAP if you can join us that day. Thanks very much!
There is no ticket charge for this performance, but permission slips are required.  Your child has a form in their folder.
