About Carol
I am a 2/3 teacher at Polaris
K-12 School. I have been teaching for 23 years. This is my
10th year at Polaris. I graduated from Florida Atlantic
University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary
Education. After teaching for a couple of years, I
continued with my education to receive a Master's Degree in
Guidance and Counseling. I am currently finishing up
courses to receive a certificate in Administration. I will
be participating in an Administrative Exchange during the
time that Jenna, our student intern, will be completing her
residency.
I grew up in South Florida and moved to Girdwood, Alaska in
1994. Everyone asks how I "ended up" in Alaska from
Florida. Trust me when I say it's a long story. When I'm
not at school I enjoy spending time with my family. We are
usually pretty busy, but having a lot of fun. Our weekends
are often spent skiing at Alyeska. We also like to
snowshoe. If there is no snow we like to golf. Sarah, my
daughter, is quite involved with music. She plays the
violin, bass and guitar and has been writing her own music.
Steve, my husband, plays guitar with Sarah in her band.
Consider me their manager. We're often busy with music.
Following are a few pictures of our more recent adventures.
